For all of you out there that thought big web conferences only happened across the pond, well I have news for you, WordCamp UK 2009 is coming to Cardiff on the weekend 18th – 19th of July. Tickets are on sale now and if you buy one before the end of the month (May) you will receive £10 discount.

WordCamp UK 2009 is a informal conference focused squarely on everything WordPress. Everyone from casual end users all the way up to core developers are welcome.

This years event brings together some big names including WordPress founding developers Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little, public sector WordPress consultant Simon Dickson, blogging and internet marketing consultant Chris Garrett and web designer and developer Simon Wheatley. The full running order can be found at the official WordCamp UK 2009 website.

WordCamp UK 2009 will be held in Cardiff Bay at the The Future Inn, which is the home to the stunning Millennium Centre and the Welsh Assembly, it’s where Torchwood has its headquarters too; but most importantly, it’s got all the benefits of a capital city without the price tag.

This will be my first WordCamp UK conference and believe me I’m looking forward to every minute of it. Hopefully see you all there!!

For more information about the conference please visit the official WordCamp UK 2009 blog or the ticket booking page if you just can’t wait like me.
