This website has been built on the latest version of WordPress (3.3) and uses a custom theme built from scratch specifically for Crowdfund Sw1′s needs.

The website’s main functionality is its integration with PayPal, which allows user to securely donate to specific projects online. Using the built in WordPress custom post types, each project tracks how many people and how much money has been donated automatically.

Using the WordPress custom meta data for custom post types, the website allows Crowdfund SW1 to embed videos from Vimeo and YouTube by adding the relevant video ID’s to each project.

The website also integrates with MailChimp’s API to add the details of the users who opt-in when donating to a project. This allows Crowdfund SW1 to easily send updates to these people by email, on the progress of the projects they have donated too.

Now that both of us have found a little more free time, the project will be a high priority for both over the coming months. This time round, we are planning to develop the website into a community gaming review website; where you, the consumer, can write you own reviews and thoughts about the games you play.

Without going into too much detail, our plan is to develop the website on the WordPress platform but with a whole lot of custom plug-ins to give us the functionality we desire.

Hopefully, we can have a working prototype up and running in the coming months, and then start building our community of real gamers and their thoughts on the games they play.

I’ll try and keep you updated with the progress and hopefully the WordCamp UK 2009 conference in July will give us some great insight into how we can make the most out of WordPress’ existing functionality.

The Harrison Family Tree now contains over 3,000 people, some of which can be seen on Harrisons of Liverpool a Family Tree. They have completed several complex Family History and ancestry searches including one which dated back to 896AD, due to a Royal family connection being uncovered.

The Harrisons of Liverpool website was designed on a WordPress MU platform so that an information and business website could be updated using a single admin backend.

The Black Lion Bowling Club website was designed to be an information site for current players, providing the latest news, results and fixtures. The site also serves to attract new players and interest to the game of crown green bowls.

The website is powered by a bespoke Content Management System and MySQL database; so that the club can update results and fixtures by themselves.

Another feature of this website is that if you view it using a mobile device it will automatically redirect you to the mobile version, with reduced content for easy access on the go.
